Report

After just one week of the season, the COVID-19 Coronavirus halted play after the 8 March 2020. Four Months later restrictions were lifted, allowing a return to play on 12 July 2020, with the United Soccer League making the decision to reduce the length of the season.

The 35 teams in the USL Championship were divided into eight regional groups, with the top two from each group qualifying for the last 16, where it would be knockout from there onwards. Week 1 results still counted in the standings along with a home and away match against each other team in a teams group.
