Ireland Amateur & Regions Cup National Team
The UEFA Amateur Cup was introduced by the Organization governing European Football in order to give Amateur National Teams in Western Europe a chance at a Championship, as the Communist Bloc countries were using what were for all intents and purposes full professionals in the Olympic Tournaments.
The UEFA Amateur Cup became the UEFA Regions Cup after the fall of the USSR and the subsequent creation of the European Union as a political as well as economic entity.
