Report
Republic of Ireland international Robbie Keane played in 3 matches for Los Angeles Galaxy in the 2013-14 CONCACAF Champions League, one in the Group Stage where he scored two goals to give Galaxy the win at home to CS Cartagines Deportivo of Costa Rica. He did not play any further in the Group Stage as Los Angeles Galaxy qualified for the quarter-Finals with ease, finishing with 9 points from 4 matches, 5 points clear of both CS Cartagines and AD Isidro Metapan of El Salvador.
In the Quarter-Finals LA Galaxy met Mexican team Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente from just South of the border from California in Baja California. Despite winning the first leg 1-0 and 2 goals from Robbie Keane in the return leg in Baja, LA Galaxy succumbed 4-2 to go out 4-3 on aggregate. Robbie played in both matches.
Three Mexican teams reached the Semi-Finals and the dominant country in North, Central American and Caribbean Football won the CONCACAF Champions League Trophy again as expected with Cruz Azul FC of Mexico City defeating Deportivo Toluca FC, from a small distance west of Mexico City, on away goals rule after both matches were drawn. The only non-Mexican team in the Semi-Finals, Liga Deportivo Alajuelense of Costa Rica went out to Deportivo 0-1 and 0-2.
Robbie Keane appeared on the cover of the Shamrock Rovers v LA Galaxy International Club Friendly Match Programme shortly afterwards in Tallaght, Ireland, his hometown on February 21, 2015.
