Blue Angels easily won the Civil Service Ladies Football League Division 4 in 1990 in the Republic of Ireland, winning nine and drawing one of their 10 games. Donaghmede Celtic finished in second, six points behind on 13 and WSAF (12 points) and Bank of Ireland (11 Points) finished mid-table. Bottom of the Division were Willowettes on 3 points and RFC Phoenix on 2 Points. The Division was reduced to six teams after the resignation of both Jets and Microsoft following heavy defeats early on. Both teams records were expunged.

Recap

New team Leixlip, starting off in Division 3 of the Civil Service Ladies Football League in 1990, faltered towards the end of the season, allowing Dodder to draw level with them on 28 Points. Dodder, having won one and drawn the other encounter between the teams during the season, went into the necessary Playoff as the slight favourite and won 4-3. Postal finished four points back in third, and mid-table went to AnCO on 19 points, Hibernian Celtic on 14, and TE Rangers on 13. Mex Athletic (8 points), Falcon (8 Points) and Creevagh (2 Points) were left fighting relegation to Division 4.

O’Connell’s Chicks were convincing winners of the Civil Service Ladies Football League Division 2 in 1990 in the Republic of Ireland, winning 14 of 16 games, and losing only one, to finish on 29 points, five points ahead of nearest challengers St. James. Dublin Bay finished a further 6 points back in third. Mid-Table positions went to Central Bank (also on 18 Points), and DSW (Department of Social Welfare) on 16 points. Fighting out against relegation were CCS and Spartak (12 points each), Codex (10 points) and bottom of the table St. Brendan’s (5 Points).

Linfield Ladies finished second on 22 Points, while Sion Swifts Ladies finished third with 17 points, one ahead of Crusaders Strikers. Olympique Lyonnaise of France won the International Champions Cup Women’s Tournament in USA in August 2018, defeating North Carolina Courage 1-0 in the Final. England’s Manchester City finished third with a victory over Atletico Madrid in the four-team preseason tournament.
