Report

Reunion won the Indian Ocean Games Soccer Tournament in 2007 in Antananarivo in Madagascar. Featuring the National Teams of six Island Nations in the Indian Ocean, the Games could hardly have been closer in the Group Stages with Group A decided only on goal difference after all three countries finished with one win and one loss each, Mauritius and Mayotte Qualifying for the Semi-Finals. In Group B Madagascar won the only match that didn’t end in a draw, sending themselves and Reunion through at the expense of the Comoros Islands. Madagascar reached the Final along with Reunion who clinched the title 7-6 on penalties after a 0-0 draw.
