Republic of Ireland player, Derrick Williams, although born in Germany moved to Waterford as a child where he made a name for himself at AFC Tramore, securing a contract with Aston Villa FC of the English Premier League in 2009. After spells at Bristol City (2013 to 2016) and Blackburn Rovers (2016 to 2021) before signing for LA Galaxy in March 2021, just before the MLS season started. He earned his first cap for Republic of Ireland versus France in 2018.
